Important Disclaimer: Always Verify Through Official PRC Channels

Examination schedules, testing centers, filing procedures, documentary requirements, payment channels, room assignments, examination-day rules, results, and oath-taking instructions may be changed or clarified after this article is published.

Always check legitimate and official PRC information channels before acting. What Is the AgLE?

The Agriculturists Licensure Examination evaluates whether an applicant has the knowledge and competencies expected of an entry-level professional agriculturist. Passing the examination is one of the principal requirements for registration and lawful professional practice under the Philippine Agriculturists Act.

The first licensure examination for agriculturists was conducted in 2003 under earlier rules of the Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture. Republic Act No. 12215, or the Philippine Agriculturists Act, was approved in 2025 and now provides a broader legal framework for examination, registration, professional practice, and regulation of agriculturists.

Was AgLE Formerly Called LEA or ALE?

Older agriculture materials sometimes used LEA because the examination was written as the “Licensure Examination for Agriculturists.” Other official and unofficial materials have used “Agriculturist Licensure Examination” or “Agriculturists Licensure Examination,” which can produce the abbreviation ALE. The abbreviation ALE can also be used for the Architect Licensure Examination.

Naming Reminder

AgLE is used in this article for clarity. When completing a PRC transaction, searching an official schedule, or communicating formally, use the exact examination name shown by PRC and LERIS.

What Are the Benefits of Taking the AgLE?

Passing the AgLE and completing professional registration allows a qualified person to become a registered agriculturist. The credential may be required or preferred for professional functions, technical agricultural positions, government employment, private-sector work, consultancy, research, extension, teaching, and other activities included in the lawful scope of agriculture practice.

Benefit
What It Means
Important Limitation
Professional registration
You may complete registration and receive a Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card.

Registration confirms that you met the examination and registration standards.
A license does not replace ethical conduct, field competence, or continuing learning.
Professional development
Registration creates a pathway for professional organization participation, CPD, and specialized practice.
Renewal, CPD, and membership rules must still be followed.
Table 1. Main benefits of passing and completing Agriculturist registration

Do AgLE Passers Still Need to Take the Civil Service Examination?

Generally, no. Passers of licensure board examinations administered by the PRC are automatically recognized as civil service eligibles under Republic Act No. 1080. An AgLE passer does not ordinarily need to take a separate Career Service Examination simply to obtain civil service eligibility.

The eligibility is not a blanket guarantee for every government position. Its appropriateness depends on the duties of the position and applicable qualification standards. The applicant must still satisfy education, training, experience, competency, license, and other requirements imposed by the agency and the position.

Who Is Eligible to Take the AgLE?

Under Republic Act No. 12215, an applicant must generally be a Filipino citizen, or a citizen of a foreign country that grants reciprocal professional rights to Filipino agriculturists. The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or an agriculture-related degree from a government-recognized institution, must have completed prescribed agricultural coursework, and must be of good moral character without a conviction involving moral turpitude.

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Graduates

Graduates of a recognized Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program fall within the main educational group qualified to apply, subject to PRC verification of documents and current academic requirements.

Graduates of agriculture-related programs may also qualify when their academic records satisfy the agricultural subject and unit requirements prescribed by the Board. Eligibility is based on the degree and actual coursework, not only on the name of the program.

Practical Tip

If your degree is not Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, request an eligibility or transcript evaluation from PRC well before the filing deadline. A program title containing “agriculture,” “agribusiness,” “animal science,” or a similar term does not by itself guarantee eligibility.

Foreign-Educated Applicants

Applicants who completed their degree outside the Philippines may be required to submit proof of equivalency or recognition, authenticated or apostilled documents, and an official English translation when applicable. Reciprocity rules may also apply to foreign citizens.

Certain Government Agriculture Personnel

Republic Act No. 12215 contains a possible qualification pathway for incumbent personnel holding agriculture positions in national, regional, local, or government-owned institutions. The applicant must be performing agricultural functions acceptable to the Board, possess professional civil service eligibility, and have completed the prescribed agricultural subjects and units. Direct PRC evaluation is strongly recommended for anyone relying on this provision.

What Subjects Are Covered in the AgLE?

The Philippine Agriculturists Act identifies six foundation subjects. The Board may later re-cluster, rearrange, add, modify, or exclude areas to keep the examination aligned with agricultural and technological developments.

Examination Subject
Major Review Areas
Crop Science
Crop classification, plant growth and development, crop production, breeding, seed technology, cropping systems, and postharvest concepts.
Animal Science
Anatomy and physiology, nutrition, breeding, production systems, animal health, livestock, and poultry management.
Soil Science
Soil formation, physical and chemical properties, fertility, plant nutrition, classification, conservation, and land management.
Crop Protection
Entomology, plant pathology, weed science, pest identification, epidemiology, and integrated pest management.
Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, and Agri-entrepreneurship
Economic principles, farm management, production economics, finance, marketing, cooperatives, policy, and agribusiness.
Agricultural Extension and Communication
Extension principles, communication, teaching and learning, program development, community organization, rural development, and evaluation.

Philippine Statistics Authority birth record.
Check that your name and birth details match LERIS.
Required for a married female applicant when applicable.
Transcript of Records

Required for identity verification for first timers and repeaters.
Two Certificates of Good Moral Character
May be issued by the barangay, school, church, or employer.
Application fee
PHP 900 for the complete examination.
Ombudsman Clearance
Listed as an additional requirement for government employees.
Academic evaluation documents
May be required for related, irregular, or foreign degree programs.
Table 3. Core first-time applicant requirements

Document Consistency Tip

Compare the spelling and order of your name on your PSA record, TOR, government ID, and LERIS profile. Even minor differences can delay processing and may affect later registration records.

Do Not Wait for the Deadline

The November 3 filing deadline is not the date to begin collecting your documents. Schools, PSA channels, barangays, employers, and government offices may take several days or even weeks to release the required records.

Starting early also gives you enough buffer time to correct name inconsistencies, missing information, invalid documents, or other issues discovered during review. It also allows you to secure additional documents if the PRC requests further proof or clarification before approving your application.

Requirements for Repeaters and Conditioned Examinees

Repeat applicants must use their existing LERIS account when possible, create a new examination transaction, select the appropriate applicant type, and pay the applicable fee. A conditioned or removal applicant should follow the official rating record and LERIS instructions for the subject or subjects to be retaken.

Applicant Situation
Likely Requirement
What to Confirm
Complete repeater
New LERIS examination transaction and PHP 900 base fee.
Updated documents may be required if personal or academic records changed.
Conditioned or removal
New LERIS transaction and PHP 450 base fee.
Confirm the subjects to be retaken from the official rating record.
Name change
Updated PSA and identification documents may be needed.
Personal evaluation may be required.
Changed course or records
Updated TOR or supporting documents may be requested.
Do not assume simplified processing applies.
Three examination failures
A refresher course is required before another attempt.
Verify the current approved provider and documentary format with PRC.
Table 4. Repeater and conditioned applicant considerations

Current PRC guidance may allow certain repeaters to avoid personally resubmitting the same PSA and TOR records when their previous examination record, exact name, course, examination, and photograph are already available and unchanged in the system. However, the system or PRC office may still require updated records in individual cases.

Repeater Reminder

Do not create a second LERIS account just because you cannot immediately see your old transaction. Recover your original account first or request PRC assistance. Duplicate accounts can create record-matching problems.

What Is PRC LERIS?

LERIS

Example:

LERIS stands for Licensure Examination and Registration Information System. It is the official PRC online portal used for licensure examination applications and many later professional transactions.

LERIS is used to create or update a personal PRC profile, apply for an examination, select an appointment when required, choose a payment method, register for oath-taking, complete initial registration, renew a Professional Identification Card, and request selected certifications or other services.

Why Do AgLE Applicants Need to Register in LERIS?

PRC requires licensure examination applications to begin through its online system. The LERIS account connects your identity, education, examination choice, testing center, appointment, payment, and application status to one PRC record. It also becomes important after the examination because the same account is used for oath-taking and initial registration transactions.

LERIS Function
Why It Matters
Personal profile
Creates the applicant’s official identity and contact record.
Examination application
Records the profession, schedule, applicant type, and preferred testing center.
Appointment
Schedules document evaluation or office processing when required.
Payment
Generates or records the examination payment transaction.
Notice of Admission
Supports approval and issuance of the examination admission record.
Oath-taking
Allows successful examinees to register for authorized oath-taking schedules.
Initial registration
Allows passers to register for professional credentials.
Future PRC transactions
Supports renewal, certifications, record updates, and other services.
Table 5. Main LERIS functions for an AgLE applicant

Account Security Tip

Use an email address that you personally control. Keep your password private. Do not allow a review center, classmate, or fixer to control your LERIS account because you are responsible for the information and transactions made through it.

Step 11: Submit or present documents.

Follow the generated instructions and bring originals and copies to the selected PRC office when personal submission is required.

Step 12: Obtain the Notice of Admission.

After approval, save and print the Notice of Admission and read every instruction on it.

Create a Digital Application Folder

Save copies of your application form, appointment, payment receipt, supporting documents, Notice of Admission, room assignment, and examination program in one clearly named folder. Keep a backup in cloud storage or another device.

Application Fees and Additional Online Processing Charges

The current PRC Agriculture requirements page lists a basic fee of PHP 900 for the complete examination and PHP 450 for a conditioned or removal examination. These amounts refer to the PRC examination fee.

When paying through an online bank, electronic wallet, card, over-the-counter partner, or another payment channel, the provider may add a service, convenience, or processing charge. The additional amount can vary according to the payment method and provider. Review the complete amount displayed before confirming payment.

Payment Warning

Do not assume that two payment channels will charge the same total. Compare the final amount, confirm the transaction reference, and do not repeat payment immediately if the status is delayed. Check LERIS and contact the payment provider or PRC when needed.

What Rating Is Required to Pass the AgLE?

Republic Act No. 12215 requires an examinee to obtain an average of at least 75 percent in all examination subjects, with no rating below 50 percent in any subject.

An examinee who obtains a general weighted average of at least 75 percent but receives a rating below 50 percent in one or more subjects may be allowed to retake the subject or subjects in which the rating fell below 50 percent. An examinee who fails to pass three times must complete a refresher course before another attempt.

How AgriBoard Reviewer PH Can Support Your Preparation

AgriBoard Reviewer PH can be used as one part of a balanced review plan. The platform is designed around structured agriculture lessons, topic-based practice, available mock examinations for eligible users, and mistake-review tools that can help identify weak areas across the six examination subjects.

Students may create an account and access available free preview materials. A practical workflow is to study a lesson, answer related questions, review every mistake, and return to the weak concept instead of moving randomly between unrelated files and topics.

AgriBoard Reviewer PH is an independent study platform and is not an official PRC reviewer. No application, review center, book, lecturer, or study method can guarantee a passing result or predict the exact questions that will appear.

Start Preparing for AgLE 2026

How to Prepare for AgLE 2026

Preparation should begin with the official foundation subjects and the most current Tables of Specifications or PRC guidance. The objective is to build balanced knowledge across the examination rather than collecting many unrelated reviewers.

  • Take a diagnostic quiz to identify weak subjects and topics before intensive review.
  • Create a realistic schedule based on work, school, family duties, and available months.
  • Combine lessons with active recall and practice questions instead of reading alone.
  • Maintain a mistake list showing the concept, your incorrect reasoning, and the correct explanation.
  • Use reliable textbooks, university notes, official references, and structured review materials.
  • Practice longer timed sets to prepare for sustained concentration across three examination days.
  • Protect sleep, health, meals, and travel arrangements during the final review period.

Common Review Mistake

Saving many reviewers without completing lessons, answering questions, or checking errors.

Use a manageable set of reliable materials consistently. Measurable progress comes from active study and correction, not from the number of files stored on a device.

What to Do Before and During Examination Day

Time
What to Do
Why It Matters
One to two weeks before
Check the official room assignment and examination program.
These provide the final venue and current rules.
Several days before
Prepare the Notice of Admission, accepted ID, and specifically required materials.
Do not rely on a previous year’s checklist.
One day before
Map the venue, prepare clothing and food, set alarms, and sleep early.
Reduces preventable stress and delays.
Examination morning
Arrive earlier than the required reporting time.
Security, identity checks, and seating may take time.
During the examination
Read each question carefully and manage time.
Rushing can turn knowledge into avoidable errors.
After each examination day
Rest and prepare for the next scheduled subjects.
Lengthy post-exam debates can increase anxiety.
Table 9. Practical examination-day checklist

Official Program Controls

Rules about calculators, pencils, clothing, food, documents, bags, devices, and permitted items should come from the official 2026 examination program. Old posts and previous-year instructions may no longer apply.

When Will the AgLE 2026 Results Be Released?

The PRC’s published 2026 schedule identifies December 10, 2026 as the target date for releasing the Agriculturists Licensure Examination results. A target date is not an absolute guarantee. The actual release may be earlier or later depending on examination processing and official extensions.

Republic Act No. 12215 provides that results should be released within 14 working days from the last examination day unless extended for a valid reason.

How to Check Your Result

Check the official PRC list of successful examinees and use the PRC online verification service for ratings. Avoid entering personal information on unofficial websites or giving your LERIS credentials to another person.

Privacy Warning

Do not publicly post your complete application number, birth date, government ID, LERIS email, password, or payment records when asking someone to check your result.

What Should You Do After Passing the AgLE?

Step 1: Verify your result and rating.

Confirm your name through the official PRC list and use the official verification service for the rating.

Step 2: Wait for the official oath-taking announcement.

PRC will issue the schedule, venue, mode, registration procedure, and other instructions.

Step 3: Register for oath-taking through LERIS.

Use your existing account and follow the available face-to-face, online, or special oath-taking procedure announced for your batch.

Step 4: Take the Oath of Professional.

The oath is required before entering the practice of the agriculture profession.

Step 5: Complete initial registration.

Use LERIS to complete the registration process for successful examinees.

Step 6: Pay the prescribed registration fees.

Review the total because payment-channel processing or convenience fees may also apply.

Step 7: Receive or claim your professional credentials.

Follow PRC instructions for the Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card.

Step 8: Use the title correctly.

Use “Registered Agriculturist” or “RAgr” only after completing the required professional registration.

Step 9: Use your RA 1080 eligibility in government applications.

Provide the acceptable proof requested by the hiring agency and satisfy all other qualification standards.

Step 10: Update professional records.

Update your résumé, profiles, and employment records accurately after registration.

Step 11: Monitor renewal, CPD, and professional organization requirements.

Follow later PRC and professional organization rules governing continuing practice.

Common Mistake

Adding RAgr to your name immediately after seeing your name on the list of passers.

Passing is a major milestone, but oath-taking and professional registration must still be completed before using the professional title or practicing as a registered agriculturist.
